Thesis Option - Academic Requirements

• Total 30 hours of coursework
• At least 21 hours must be 6000 level or higher
• At least grade C or higher
• Satisfy all requirements listed below (Group 1, 2, 3)
• Group I: Graduate-level (6000) ECE Hours
  • Two classes (Total 6 hours) in one or two technical interest areas of the student's choice.
  • All hours for letter grade credit.
  • ECE 6258 : Digital Image Processing (https://ece.gatech.edu/courses/ece6258 )
  • ECE 6270 : Convex Optimization: Theory, Algorithms, and Applications (https://www.coursicle.com/gatech/courses/ECE/6270/)
• Group II: Additional ECE Graduate-level (6000) Hours
  • 6 hours under a technical interest area that is outside the technical area(s) above.
  • Courses may not be cross-listed with the technical interest area(s) above.
  • All hours for letter grade credit.
  • ECE 6122 : Advanced Programming Techniques for Engineering Applications (https://ece.gatech.edu/courses/ece6122)
    • 1. Distributed programming with MPI (2 or 3 lectures)
    • 2. Parallel programming with standard threading models (3 lectures)
    • 3. Introduction to graphics programming using OpenGL (3 lectures)
    • 4. Object--Oriented code templates (2 lectures)
    • 5. Introduction to UDP and TCP sockets (3 lectures)
    • 6. Using non-blocking system I/O (2 lectures)
