Reference: Digital Image Processing (ECE 6258) from Prof. Ghassan Alregib
1. What is the difference between Image vs. Digital Image?
- Image is a visual representation of something.
- Whereas Digital Image is a binary representation of visual data.
2. Luminance vs. Brightness
- Luminance means the absolute value.
- Whereas Brightness denotes how we perceive the luminance.
- For example, the gray patch on a dark background appears brighter than that on a bright background.
